Güterstein Waterfall
The waterfall is fed by water that seeps through the surface of the Alb plateau close to the Fohlenhof. The water encounters an impermeable layer and so runs down two calcareous limestone terraces into the valley.
To get to the Güterstein waterfall, follow the trail through the Maisental (Maisen valley) past the Güterstein stud farm and then the narrow zig-zag path upwards. At the top you can enjoy a view of the waterfall from the man-made pool. Above the pool is a small chapel, a reminder of the Güterstein monastery which stood on this spot until 1560.
