Castle of the Barons of Gärtringen

The baronial castle of the Freiherren Hiller von Gaertringen was erected in 1728 by Georg Friedrich Majer, a master builder from Schorndorf. The coats of arms of the Hiller and Preysing families can be seen over the gateway. The portal, which is the most ornamental part of the otherwise austere complex, was created by the Herrenberg stonemason Marx Hepp, a native of Rottenburg.
