De Staat
De Staat built a reputation as one of Europe’s most inventive and fearless live acts. The b consistently pushed the boundaries of what a rock band can be. From the pounding rally cries of Witch Doctor to the razor-sharp commentary of KITTY KITTY, De Staat has long explored themes of demagoguery and mass manipulation. De Staat played - and in some cases headlined - majo festivals including SXSW, Glastonbury, Lowlands, Sziget, Boomtown, Rock for People, Pukkelpop Rock Werchter and Deichbrand and toured with bands like The Rolling Stones, Muse, and Biff Clyro. Their music - spanning industrial grooves, heavy riffs, experimental electronics, and po sensibility - has been featured in global campaigns and games, winning Edison Awards, 3FM Awards, multiple music video awards, a Bernays Lifetime Achievement Award and internat critical acclaim.
After two years of silence, De Staat returned with a long-awaited self-titled album, art install and live show called De Staat Becomes De Staat marking nearly 25 years of pushing boundaries in the art rock landscape. De Staat Becomes De Staat is made in collaboration with director Floo Houwink Ten Cate (One Man Show, Sea Of Silence), contemporary audiovisual artist Boris Acke (Joep Beving, Fred Again.. ), light designer Freek Ros (Wende, Altın Gün), visual artist Tarik Ba (Thom Yorke, Nicolas Jaar), audio designer Reinier Rietveld (Craigie Horsefield) and dance collect 155 (Controle, Johnny). The show premiered at Down The Rabbit Hole Festival and is followed u by two shows in Royal Theatre Carré in Amsterdam. The band will be touring Europe and the UK in autumn 2026, with more shows to be announced along the way.

This single was followed up by THE FIRE, GLORY, THE UNDERDOG and FREEDOM, tracks that are based around themes as complacency, power, division and AI. Their latest album and liveshow got the attention of media-outlets like 3voor12, Volkskrant, Vrij Nederland, Telegraaf, Oor, Wire, Clash, Rolling Stone, Rock Sound, The Line of Best Fit, Far Out Magazine, Kerrang! and Visions.
